Sales Manager Pharma DACH – Germany

For the development of our ambitious growth plan of our Pharma Business we are offering the position of Sales Manager Pharma for the D/A/CH region.

Your Role:

You will have full responsibility to manage sales in D/A/CH region for new & existing customers in small molecule API, intermediate and fine chemical synthesis with our product portfolio of extraction & reaction solvents, intermediates and basic building blocks.

On the other hand, you will be responsible for D/A/CH sales of an excipients portfolio with an initial focus of Povidones (Polyvinylpyrrolidone) at its core. This responsibility will be carried out in direct and regular collaboration with our European Product Managers & Sales Managers Excipients, who will also be your back-up during absences and vice-versa.


Your main goals will be to develop the D/A/CH target market approach per segment and per customer, to build the market knowledge and prospect/customer basis, and to roll out the developed approach into our sales organization.


While the existing solvent & building blocks business follows our ongoing budgeting, forecasting and sales process already, for the excipients side of the business, the goal is to define a first commercial 2025 budget for D/A/CH and then recurring annual budgets reflecting growth.


You will report to the Sales Management Team Leader Europe.

Your key responsibilities and challenges are:

  • Development of sales and negotiation of customer contracts in DACH region.
  • Exploring and studying markets in terms of customers’ needs, products, service and pricing, environment & partnership.
  • Develop existing and new customers and markets for our existing and new products, also via customer visits and face-to-face interaction.
  • Regular visits to customers and prospects.
  • Develop account specific strategies & custom-made solutions.
  • Enhancing and maintaining customer service level in close collaboration with the back-office team (Supply chain, Quality & Finance).
  • Drive business growth and improve the company’s market position vs competitor’s activities.
  • Implement product / price / volume /inventory strategies in cooperation with the European sales team & Product Manager Excipients.
  • Continuous learning on local regulations & business requirements.
  • Close team collaboration with dedicated Inside Sales.
  • Assist in customer complaints and support Inside Sales Manager on their follow-up in case of payment issues at customers.
  • Presence on international chemical fairs & conferences for pharma and pharma excipients business.
  • Business development activities must be in line with the Novasol Chemicals group sustainability strategy

Your Profil:

  • Experience (3 -5 years) in Pharma distribution business
  • Knowledge of excipients business in DACH
  • Graduate level education in chemistry or science
  • Fluent in German & English
  • Familiar with Microsoft Office & CRM systems (preferably Oracle NetSuite)
  • Entrepreneurial, result-oriented and hunter’s spirit, with curiosity for new markets and segments
  • Ability to work in teams and with different cultures and backgrounds
  • You are positive and willing to contribute to the company team spirit through your open communication and active knowledge sharing amongst colleagues
  • Flexible and ready for business travel in D/A/CH and to Novasol EU subsidiaries
  • You are based in Germany
